Balkanagan Kitchen is more than just a food trailer, it’s a bridge between two places we love. As Serbians born in Novi Sad, we grew up in the heart of a culture where food is the center of every conversation and every celebration. When we made the Okanagan our home, we brought the recipes of our culture along with us.

A HEARTY SANDWICH FROM SERBIA
In Novi Sad, the Index Sendvič isn’t just a meal, it’s a cultural icon. We spent years enjoying these grilled masterpieces at the famous stands of our hometown, and we knew the people of the Valley deserved to experience the real thing. From the specific way we grill the mushrooms to the perfect melt of the cheese, we bring that authentic Novi Sad technique to every sandwich we hand through the window.
OUR BALKAN-STYLE CREPES
PERFECTLY LIGHT & DELICIOUS Palačinke
No Balkan childhood is complete without Palačinke. Thinner and more delicate than a pancake, but heartier than a French crepe, they are the ultimate comfort food. For us, “going out for Palačinke” is a ritual.
We make ours exactly how we remember them: paper-thin, cooked to a perfect golden spots, and rolled with classic fillings like Eurocrem and ground Plazma biscuit, or topped with fresh fruit. It’s a taste of the Balkans in every bite.

While our trailer focuses on the fast-paced energy of street food, our hearts are also in the “slow food” traditions of our heritage. Our Pre-Order Kitchen allows us to share the dishes that defined our childhoods, like rich, savory Goulash, the classic Makovnjača, and more!
